Void Filling

What causes voids to develop below concrete slabs?

The most common cause is soil consolidation of backfill materials most often found around the perimeter of homes, swimming pools, or other types of excavations. As poorly consolidated backfill (soils) compress, voids are created beneath hardscape components. Other causes include soil erosion, varmint tunneling and poor construction methods.

Voiding can cause slabs to crack and excessive erosion as these high-volume pathways readily accept water runoff and invite digging rodents. Filling voids with a high density, Geo-Polymer foam eliminates erosion, displaces undesirable creatures and provides uniform hardscape support.
